TechVillage 2024: A Unique Retreat for Entrepreneurs and Investors
In a startup world dominated by fast-paced innovation and constant hustle, TechVillage 2024 offers a refreshing alternative. Set to take place from September 6-8, 2024, in one of Moldova’s most picturesque villages, this three-day retreat is designed to foster meaningful connections between Eastern European startups and global investors.
Moldova Makes Strides
With a population of 2.45M and a GDP of $45.02B, the country quietly establishes itself as a hub for startups and investors. Moldovan startups are already making waves with Nodeshift raising €3.2M, Fagura – €1.5M, and Bloomcoding – €1.1M. The ecosystem is supported by the Moldova Innovation Technology Park (MITP), Europe’s first e-park. With 1,947 active residents and 263 foreign-backed companies, MITP attracts startups with a 7% single-income tax and a 30% reduction in personnel-related costs associated with new product development. Additionally, Moldova’s strategic partnership with neighboring Romania enables access to the broader European market, further enhancing its appeal as a base for tech innovation.
Business Networking in the Vineyard
TechVillage 2024 stands out by combining a professional networking event with the serenity of rural life. Unlike typical startup conferences, TechVillage emphasizes authentic interactions over flashy presentations.
Both startups and investors will engage in meetings under the open sky, around campfires, and on scenic hillsides—far removed from the sterile environments of hotels and conference rooms. Attendees will enjoy Moldova’s stunning landscapes, partake in wine tasting, and savor local cuisine. This retreat-style setup allows for a more relaxed and immersive experience, blending business with the pleasures of travel.
Balanced Doses of Business and Leisure
The event’s agenda is crafted to respect the busy schedules of entrepreneurs while providing ample time for deep conversations. Mornings start with networking breaks, followed by long lunches that encourage participants to connect on a personal level. Activities like village quests and pitch presentations are seamlessly integrated into the day, ensuring a balance between business and leisure.
50 Startups and 50 Investors Are Invited
With only 50 startups and 50 investors invited, TechVillage 2024 promises quality over quantity. This selective approach ensures that every interaction is meaningful, allowing participants to build strong, lasting relationships. With more than 15 startups from Ukraine, the event will highlight the vibrancy of the Eastern European startup ecosystem, offering a glimpse into the region’s most promising ventures.
Among the startups confirmed for TechVillage are Brizy.io, a no-code website builder; Briller.House, which focuses on zero-carbon modular homes; and Docus, an AI-powered health assistant and investors from Nation1VC, Launchub, Uventures, Katalista Ventures, and angel communities.
